The aging process occurs when beverages are stored in wooden barrels, where natural chemical reactions enhance the flavor, aroma, and even the color of the drink, providing a unique experience.

Usage Instructions:

Assemble the barrel by fitting the loose parts (tap, lid, and stand).

Fill the barrel with water and let it sit for 20 days. This allows the wood to swell, preventing leaks.

If leakage occurs, don’t worry. This is normal until the wood is fully saturated.

After 20 days, if you don’t have the beverage ready (cachaça, whisky, etc.), keep the barrel filled with water to prevent the wood from drying out. If you already have the beverage, remove the water and fill the barrel with it.

The aging time varies according to personal taste, but the most common period is 30 days. We recommend adjusting the time to your preference.

To start using a new barrel, fill it with water for 20 days, replenishing the water as it evaporates. This ensures the gaps are completely sealed.

For the first use, it is recommended to use low-quality cachaça (or even ethyl alcohol) so the barrel can adapt to the alcoholic solution and the wood flavor doesn’t become too intense. After 15 days, discard this beverage and replace it with high-quality white cachaça to enjoy the characteristics of the wood.

Keep the barrel away from sun and wind.

Never submerge the barrel in water to soak it; only fill it with water internally.

When changing beverages, rinse the barrel inside and out with hot water, followed by room-temperature water, to avoid flavor mixing.

If the barrel is dry, even with liquid inside, do not submerge it in water. Simply wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.

Important Tips:

In small barrels (2 to 6 liters), aging should not exceed 1.5 years, as the contact with the wood is more intense.

Avoid placing the barrel in hot environments, such as near barbecues or in direct sunlight, to prevent the wood from drying out and the beverage from evaporating. Prefer humid and sheltered locations.

A 10% to 15% loss of liquid due to evaporation is normal.
